Andres Munoz graduated from UCF in 2010 and was a member of the 2010 National Championship team. Andres wrestled all four years at UCF and was 2X NCWA National Qualifier at both 141 lbs. & 149 lbs. After starting wrestling at Westminster Christian High School in Miami, FL, Andres decided to continue his wrestling career at UCF while pursuing his degree in accounting; a decision that he cites as one of his most influential decisions. Andres’ teammates describe him as a hard-working wrestler, committed student, and caring teammate.” Jason Balma, head coach in 2010, describes Andres as “a very positive team member who always had a smile on his face, never complained, and pushed the team to keep improving whether he was the starter or the backup.”
Following his graduation from UCF in 2010, Andres worked as a CPA doing audits for GLSC & Company. Like many former UCF wrestlers, Andres wanted to give back to the sport and coached wrestling at Florida Christian High School for three years. During that time Andres coached nine FHSAA state qualifiers.
After several years in the professional world, Andres decided to return to graduate school. He graduated from the University of Miami with his Master’s in Business Administration with 3.5 GPA. Like his time at UCF, Andres always focused on top academic performance. Following his graduation, Andres accepted a position Coastal Construction as a project accountant. Coastal Construction is one of the top construction companies in southeast.
Andres recently purchased his first home and has been dating his girlfriend, Krizia, for almost five years. Andres enjoys traveling, hunting, and as many fishing trips as possible on his boat. Andres also remains close to his UCF teammates and enjoys returning to UCF events to give back to the program.
Andres commented that joining the UCF program was one of his most defining decisions as a young man. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the four years of experience with UCF Wrestling. The team gave me my best friends and some of my most cherished memories and experiences; the team was really a family. I credit the person I am today to the program and my parents who are my two heroes in life.”
Andres is an awesome representation of what UCF wrestling strives to produce and the program is proud to call Andres a UCF wrestling alumnus!
Great job Andres!
